Discontinuation of emergency Consular Services at CGI Toronto


In the wake of outbreak of Corona virus (COVID-19), it has been decided to discontinue the Consular Services at the Consulate for walk–in/over-the-counter/in-person for attestation of Power of Attorney, Affidavit, Life Certificate, urgent PCC, Passport, etc. with effect from Tuesday, March 17, 2020, until further notice. 

2. The services will be rendered in the following manner:

  1. Attestation services for POA, affidavit, life certificate, etc. through postal means with required documents and fee to be paid by bank draft in the name of Consulate General of India, Toronto.
    Original passport and PR or driving license need not be sent, only copies will suffice along with return pre-paid self-addressed envelope.  
  2. PCC–may be sent through postal means to the Consulate with required application, fee to be paid by Bank draft in the name of Consulate General of India, Toronto, copies of passport, PR/work permit/study permit, address proof along with return pre-paid self-addressed envelope.
  3. Passport - these may be submitted at the nearest centre of BLS International.
  4. Visa services – Only emergency visa requests like death, medical, marriage of self, etc, may be emailed to toronto@mea.gov.in / cons.toronto@mea.gov.in with supporting documents – death certificate/notification, medical certificate from hospital in India, wedding card, etc. The applicant should visit the Consulate for obtaining visa, only after the approval is given on email.
