Indian Silk Export Promotion Council is a body of around 1200 exporters from all over India duly sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles.The objective of the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council is to promote, advance, increase, develop export of Natural Silks and Silk Blends and their products including Ready Made Garments and Carpets.


            Indian Silk Industry in the sericulture sector is very important for Indian Economy being highly labour intensive providing enormous employments to the weaker section of the society in rural areas as farmers and weavers. The export of silk and silk products which covers 6 major groups as under is continuously on decline for the last few years, because of rising cost of silk and limited exposure of Indian products to overseas buyers and customers:-

            The Department of Commerce has approved the proposal of the Council to organize India International Silk Fair and RBSM from 15-17 July 2019, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi wherein around 112 leading manufacturers and exporters shall be showcasing their latest range of products to the visiting overseas buyers.


This Council extends a warm welcome to buyers for the products to visit the fair.     Keeping in view the fact that the real buyers for our products are only from developed countries and they are not be provided any support of sponsorship, this Council has decided to provide them 2 nights free accommodation from our own funds for their visit to the show


Unique features of the fair:


1.    As this is the only fair in India where they will find the varieties of silk and blended products for sourcing their requirement which otherwise very difficult as have to fly to Varanasi, Chennai, Bhagalpur, Bangalore and Srinagar.

2.    As the Council as a humble gesture is offering 2 nights free accommodation and recognizing them as VIP Guest for interacting with participants at the fair having access to the buyers Lounge, evening interaction with participants over cocktail Dinner on first 2 days of the fair.

3.    As it will enable them to witness important event like Export Award Function to exporters of silk and silk blend products on their export performance thus providing a unique opportunity to meet the leader of the trade who otherwise do not participate in Fairs & Exhibitions.

4. As to oversee the status of the Indian Silk Industry in the Theme Pavilion where the intricacy of different stages of production from cocoons to fabrics will be displayed besides the salient features of different varieties of Indian Silk will be explained i.e. Mulberry, Eri, Tasar and Muga Silk which no other country in the world produces
