PRESS RELEASE

Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, Government of India has provided a platform of common database of Indian motor driving licences of all the State/Districts in India called ‘Parivahan Sewa’. On this platform, the details of Indian driving licences can be verified by using the Indian Driving Licence number and date of birth of the licence holder at the following website - https://parivahan.gov.in/rcdlstatus/?pur_cd=101

2. The Indian Consulate is resuming the attestation of the Indian Driving licences of the Indian nationals living under the Consular Jurisdiction of CGI Toronto, provided applicant provides a print out of verifiable details from the above-mentioned website along with copy and original of his Indian Driving Licence, copy of Indian passport, copy of valid PR/work permit/study permit/visitor visa, address proof and a fee of C$ 19 payable by bank draft or debit card at the Consulate (365 Bloor Street East, Toronto). The procedure for attestation is provided at the Consulate’s website – https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/page/india_licence

3. Please note, however, that the Consulate do not take responsibility in case the attested driving licence is not accepted by the Canadian authorities.

4. Indian national desirous of attesting the Indian Driving Licence may do so from the Consulate on working days.
