PRESS RELEASE - Consular Camps for attestation of Life Certificates – 2020

In continuation of earlier notification dated 03.11.2020 regarding Consular camps for issuance of Life Certificates to pensioners during November 2020 being organized by the Consulate General of India, Toronto, a revised schedule with a few changes is given below.

It may be noted that the camp scheduled to be held at Gurdwara Nanaksar Sahib from November 9th to November 13th has been shifted and now will be held at BLS Brampton from 10th -13th November 2020 due to administrative problems. No camp will be held on November 9, 2020. Pensioners who had registered for November 9th, 2020 have been intimated of the cancellation via email. Revised appointment for these pensioners will be conveyed to them in near future.

Pensioners who had registered earlier for Gurudwara Nanaksar, Brampton for dated between November 10 to 13 (venue cancelled due to administrative reasons) are requested to visit BLS Centre in Brampton as per date and time alloted. The schedule for other venues remain unchanged. The summarized revised schedule is as below:

NO repeat NO fee is charged by the Consulate for issuing Life Certificate.

Applicants are required to register on the link (click here) for this purpose, which is also available on Consulate’s website. Applicants will be informed by email of a particular time to visit these venues to avoid unnecessary rush given the COVID-19 situation. All are requested to register on the given link and also check their emails one or two days before the scheduled dates. The Life Certificates will also be issued at the Consulate premises on all working days from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM. However, prior appointment should be taken by the applicant from the Consulate as there restrictions imposed by the building management due to COVID19 situation. For in-person attestation, documents required are – duly filled in updated application form (click here) in duplicate; original passport for verification purpose (which will be returned immediately after attestation on the spot).

In order to serve the pensioners seeking life certificates in a better and efficient manner, Consulate seeks greater cooperation from applicants and their relatives to follow the above guidelines and while visiting these venues for Life Certificate to maintain social distancing and wear face mask at all times as is prescribed by the local Government. Hence, it is our appeal to the public to ensure that the documents are complete and Life Certificate application form is signed in advance by the applicant while visiting the respective centers and the time slot prescribed may also be adhered to.
