Requirements for travel on special flights under Vande Bharat Mission III 12 -30 June 2020

 

  • The Government of India has decided to operate additional Air India non-scheduled commercial flights from Toronto to Delhi under Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) Phase III from 12 June to 30 June 2020.
  • Registration - As the first step, you need to register yourself on High Commission or Consulate’s website – cgitoronto.gov.in at the given link - https://bit.ly/2Wtmv3A. Every individual has to register separately at the given link, even if they are family members and travelling together. Those who have not registered will not be issued ticket and will not be allowed to travel. Those who have already registered are NOT required to register again.
  • Indian nationals desirous to return to India will be considered. OCI Cardholders only with compelling reasons will be considered.   • Flight schedule - Under VBM 3, daily flights from 12-30 June 2020 from Toronto to Delhi departing at 1215 hrs are available as of now. If more flights to other destinations are added, the same will be updated on Consulate’s website.
  • Booking of Tickets with Air India - Air India has started taking direct bookings. Passengers are requested to make their bookings directly with Air India for special flights on the link - http://www.airindia.in/index.htm.   • Booking of air ticket through Consulate - Those passengers who have problem in making direct bookings on Air India website; those who are unable to pay through their credit cards; and those who already hold an existing Air India ticket, may contact the Consulate and email their required documents at -  toronto@mea.gov.in
  • Documents required to be submitted to Consulate – The list of documents is available on Consulate’s website under Mission Vande Bharatcgitornto.gov.in  
  • Undertaking for Air India (Annex.I)
  • A signed Undertaking (Annex.II). Original signed Undertaking is required to be submitted to Air India official at the time of check-in.
  • Passport copy;
  • Credit card authorization and copy of back and front of the credit card. Please note that AMEX card is not accepted by Air India.
  • Those holding an existing Air India ticket may provide a copy of the air ticket issued by Air India or a Travel agent that starts with 098………).
  • Thermal screening at the Airport - All passengers will be required to undergo medical screening before boarding the flight and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to travel.
  • Quarantine - All passengers who wish to travel to any destination in India may travel to Delhi. However, passengers will have to undergo mandatory quarantine as per the policy at Delhi before they are allowed to proceed to their home states.  Under no circumstances international passengers will be allowed to mix with domestic passengers before mandatory quarantine. All travellers would be required to undergo 14 days mandatory quarantine on arrival in India - 7 days of institutional quarantine at own expense of traveller followed by 7 days of home quarantine. Travellers will be quarantined in one of the institutional facilities in Delhi, Delhi NCR or Haryana; or Bhivadi or Chandigarh, as per the protocols framed by the Government of India. The traveller will not insist on returning to his/her State of Domicile before completing the mandatory period of quarantine. All travellers are required to follow health protocols framed by the Airline / Canadian Government / Government of India / State Governments concerned. The conditions laid out in the Undertakings are to be followed. The expected cost of institutional facilities in various States is uploaded on Consulate’s website under Mission Vande Bharat– https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/page/quarantine-facilities/. Passengers are also requested to visit the websites of their Domicile States to go through the quarantine requirements/other guidelines to be followed on arrival in India. 
  • All passengers on arrival in India shall be medically screened and must download and register on ArogyaSetu app.
  • Revised latest SOPs from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated 24 May 2020 for people returning from abroad have been uploaded on Consulate’s website under Vande Bharat Mission – cgitoronto.gov.in
  • Two copies of self reporting form- https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/docs/1589576105Self-Reporting-Form.pdf, duly filled in by each traveller are to be presented to the Health and Immigration officer on arrival in India.
  • Access to the airport in Canada, including the terminal buildings, is limited to travelers. Everyone using airport facilities must maintain 2 metres physical distance whenever possible.
  • All passengers and airport workers must wear a face mask at all times when in public areas of the airport in Canada and India.
