About Us Attestation of Commercial Documents

Step 1- Arrange the following documents:

Indian Citizen

Foreign Citizen

  • Duly filled in Miscellaneous application form (CLICK HERE) along with a photograph
  • Document to be attested in original and copy. 
  • Letter from the Company/Agency/Organization on their letterhead, stating the purpose of attestation, and identifying the person (with designation) who will be submitting documents on their behalf.
  • Copy of passport and licence of the person submitting the application (first and last page)
  • Copy of valid PR card/Work/Study/Visitor permit of the person submitting the application
  • Address proof- Please enclose any one of the following documents as proof of present address [Phone bills, Bank statements are not accepted as valid address proofs.]:
  • Driving license
  • Photo ID issued by the Provincial Government
  • Utility bills (Gas, Electricity, Water or Landline Telephone Bill displaying applicant’s address / House Lease Agreement).

Note: The Hague Apostille Convention, 1961, abolishes the requirement of legalization of foreign documents for use in any member country, once an Apostille certificate (including e-Apostille) has been issued by a competent authority of the country where the document originates. Therefore, no further attestation or legalization by an Indian Mission/Post of an apostilled document is required for use in India as India is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. The full text of the Hague Apostille Convention and list of its member countries are available at: https://www.hcch.net/en/ .

If the applicant still wishes to have the document attested by the Consulate, they may follow the instructions laid down below and arrange the listed documents:

  • Duly filled in Miscellaneous application form (CLICK HERE) along with a photograph
  • Document to be attested in original and copy. This needs to be pre-authenticated as per latest Global Affairs Canada's guidelines. Please see https://www.international.gc.ca/gac-amc/about-a_propos/services/authentication-authentification/step-etape-1.aspx?lang=eng 
  • Letter from the Company/Agency/Organization on their letterhead, stating the purpose of attestation, and identifying the person (with designation) who will be submitting documents on their behalf.
  • Copy of passport and licence of the person submitting the application (first and last page)
  • Address proof- Please enclose any one of the following documents as proof of present address [Phone bills, Bank statements are not accepted as valid address proofs.]:
  • Driving license
  • Photo ID issued by the Provincial Government
  • Utility bills (Gas, Electricity, Water or Landline Telephone Bill displaying applicant’s address / House Lease Agreement).

The charges mentioned are for a single seal & signature of the Consulate. The final amount will depend upon the number of signatures/seals that the applicant requires. For documents pre-authenticated by local government etc. the Consulate will by default affix signature and seal on the first page of authentication.

 

Step 2- Submission of application:
