International Driving Permit

STEP 1- Please arrange the following:

1. Two copies of International Driving Permit

2. Print out of the verification of Indian licence from https://parivahan.gov.in/rcdlstatus/?pur_cd=101

3. Copy of Indian passport (First and last page)

4. Copy of valid PR/work permit/study permit/visitor visa

5. Copy of Proof of Address in Canada- Please enclose any one of the following documents as proof of present address [Phone bills, Bank statements are not accepted as valid address proofs.]:

Driving license
Photo ID issued by the Provincial Government
Utility bills (Gas, Electricity, Water or Landline Telephone Bill displaying applicant’s address / House Lease Agreement).

STEP 2- Submission of application

All applications must be submitted at the nearest BLS center for attestion. Please see https://www.blsindia-canada.com/ for more information.
Once the applicant has received the attested documents, they would need to apply for renewal of IDP through the portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) parivahan.gov.in uploading the documents provided by the Consulate. On receipt of application through the portal, the respective Indian licensing authority will process the request for renewal of the IDP. Further enquiries, if any on reissue of IDP may be taken up with MoRTH.

NOTE: Please note that this service is available only for renewal of International Driving Permit (IDP) and not for renewal of Indian Driving License.The Consulate only facilitates attestation of the documents for the renewal of International Driving Licence (IDP), it does not renew or issue IDP.
