The Government of India is planning to repatriate stranded Indians from Toronto on the following special flights -

Only Indian passport holders are allowed to travel to India on special flights. No foreign passport holder / OCI are being considered at the moment. Please note that Government of India or Air India reserves all rights to cancel or alter the destination(s) of the flights, if required.

The Consulate will be preparing a manifest of probable travellers to India on the above flight(s) from amongst those who have registered with the Consulate. The registration has to be done individually for every person if more than one member of the family is travelling. The short-listing of candidates for travelling to India is done on the basis of compelling reasons of the travellers. Emails have been sent by Consulate for people having domicile in States/UTs – Delhi, NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Those having domicile in these States and despite having been registered with the Consulate have not received any email, they may please check their junk/spam folders; otherwise, they can download undertaking from Consulate’s website and send a confirmation for travel on the designated email IDs. People having Domicile in States other than those mentioned above, have not been sent emails.

The instructions/link for making the payment to Air India will be provided by the Consulate. Air India on receipt of due payments will issue tickets on first-come-first serve basis.

The travelers would be required to undergo 14 days quarantine mandatorily on arrival in India at his/her own expense and follow all the health protocols framed by the Airline / Canadian Government / Government of India / State Government. The quarantine will be at the GOI/State Government selected properties. The expected cost of these facilities is uploaded on Consulate’s website – www.cgitoronto.gov.in.  Passengers are also requested to visit the websites of their Domicile States to go through the quarantine facilities/other guidelines to be followed on arrival in India. 

Candidates who are registered with the Consulate and who have received an email from the Consulate will convey their willingness to travel, along with copy of the signed Undertaking and copy of valid Indian Passport and proof of compelling reason by return email to the designated email ID given below latest by end of 15 May 2020, failing which it will be presumed that the Candidate is  not willing to travel and the seat will be allocated to the next person in the list -

Each traveller is required to carry a separate signed Undertaking in original to be handed over to Air India at the time of check-in. Please note that mere receipt of Undertaking by the Consulate is not a guarantee that you will be given a seat.  A considered decision will be taken by the Consulate on the basis of compelling reasons of travellers and ticket will be issued by Air India.

Please note that compulsory thermal screening will be done at the Airport before check-in. Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to check-in and board the flight. Such tests, as required will be conducted by Airline or designated Authorities and their decision in this matter shall be final.

All passengers are required to download Arogya Setu App on arrival in India. An SOP from MHA for people returning from abroad is being uploaded on Consulate’s website – www.cgitoroto.gov.in .

Two copies of self reporting form duly filled in by each traveller are to be presented to the Health and Immigration Counters on arrival at the Airport in India (form available on Consulate’s website).
